How do you decide between wallpaper and paint when updating a high-traffic hallway or landing?

Hey everyone, I've been staring at our hallway and landing walls for weeks now, trying to figure out the next move. Last time we painted them a neutral beige thinking it'd be low-maintenance, but with kids constantly running through and bags brushing against everything, it's already got scuffs and marks that won't wipe off easily. Thinking about switching things up, but I'm torn—do most of you go for durable paint that you can just touch up, or does wallpaper actually hold its own better in those super busy spots where people are always passing? Curious what tips you've picked up from real experience, because I'm worried about wasting effort on something that'll look tatty again in a year.

Yeah, in our old place the hallway saw way too much action with shoes kicking off, coats hanging, and everyone rushing around mornings. We ended up going with a tough vinyl wallpaper on the lower half—sort of like a dado rail effect—and it took all the knocks surprisingly well without showing every little mark. Up top we kept it simple with washable paint. For pure durability in high-traffic zones like that, I've found getting pros makes a difference since they pick finishes that actually last. Someone I know swears by commercial painters london who handle busy areas all the time; they know exactly which paints or papers won't flake or peel quickly. Personally though, if the walls are already in decent shape, I lean toward paint for easy fixes, but wallpaper hides bumps better and feels less clinical. Depends on how much pattern you're after too.
