Is it just me or is everyone obsessed with "souvenirs" now?
Look, I’ve been on this forum for years, and lately, my feed is just full of people showing off their "genetic archives." Since when did collecting cannabis stuff become like collecting Pokémon cards? My neighbor literally bought a professional humidor just to keep a few packs of genetics he’s never even going to plant. He talks about "terpene profiles" and "lineage" like he’s some kind of wine sommelier. Is this actually a thing now, or are people just bored? I mean, I get wanting to have something rare, but some of these prices for a few souvenir packs are insane. Change my mind, is it actually worth starting a collection?

Haha, welcome to the club of "bored botanical nerds!" Honestly, it’s not just a trend. For me, it’s about the fact that a lot of these old-school cannabis strains are literally dying out because of all the crazy cross-breeding for the mass market. If we don’t keep the original genetics, they’re gone forever. I’m one of those "weirdos" who buys high-end seeds just to keep them in a safe. I usually get my stuff from Seedweed because they don't mess around with fakes. Last time I got a pack of some legendary 90s strain, and just holding the original breeder's box felt like holding a piece of history. It’s a hobby for people who appreciate the science and the "what if" factor. Plus, it’s a lot cheaper than collecting vintage cars!
