Best Tricep Exercises for Mass Gains
From the front my biceps look decent, but from the side my arms don’t have that thick look I’m aiming for. I already do close-grip bench and some pushdowns on chest day, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Maybe I’m not targeting all three heads properly or not using the right volume. When my triceps were lagging, the biggest change came from focusing more on long head work. Overhead extensions with dumbbells or cables really helped fill out the back of my arms. I also started prioritizing close-grip bench and weighted dips at the beginning of the session instead of leaving triceps for the very end when I was already fatigued. Volume was important, but so was quality — controlled negatives and full lockouts made a difference. But honestly, increasing frequency to twice a week and progressively overloading those key movements did more for my triceps than anything else.
